Q coils are manufactured using Tin-plated solid copper wire. Coil diameter is approximately 3.75 inches, and they are available in lengths of 5 inches, 7.5 inches, and 10 inches using 10 gauge, 8 gauge, and 6 gauge wire. The coil support bars are manufactured using a glass fiber reinforced plastic that is UV and weather resistant, so they are suitable for indoor or outdoor applications. The coil furniture is also manufactured using the same plastic material. These coils are suited for amateur and commercial applications, including but not limited to – antenna loading coils, Pi and L networks, amplifier tank coils and antenna tuning units.

QCOIL CLIPS
The Q Coil clip is a unique design that begins with a standard alligator clip, which is modified for coil clip applications. First, the alligator clip channels are filled with solder. Then, the filled channels are drilled so that a cylinder which has the same diameter as the coil wire, is formed. This results in a 360 degree, 100% contact between the clip and the coil across the entire width of the clip. Additionally, there is a screw to further insure a snug contact between the clip and the coil wire. The clips are wire gauge specific, so it is important to specify the wire gauge when ordering a clip.
